I’m finally getting caught up after Doug and I were away last week celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It’s not until the 23rd of December, but with the holidays being so hectic, we decided to get away now. We had a very nice time. We were only gone overnight, but we stayed at a swanky hotel, so that’s all we could afford. Plus, this is the first time we’ve left Jonalyn overnight. My mom came and stayed with the kids and everything went well. We didn’t do much, but I guess that’s what an anniversary trip is supposed to be about! We did some shopping, but I was disappointed at how many shops in this tourist area were closed. I guess hard times are hitting everyone. We ate lunch at a deli and dinner and a pub. Our room had an awesome shower, so we each took two. Wish I could have brought that home with me! The next day we decided to head for home early but stop and Christmas shop along the way. We pulled in the driveway at 7:30 p.m. with all of the kids’ presents in tow. What a great feeling. We forgot the camera, but I bought a tiny little one at Walgreens. Now, if I can figure out how to get the pictures off of it, I might have some to post later.

Hi Liz!
Just wanted to say thank you for stopping over at A Place Called Simplicity! My heart has been so encouraged by all the sweet friends we have seen and heard from!
I love your blog name, by the way, and saw that you are also a homeschooling mama – go homeschooling from one mama to another!!
With love from Uganda,
