Valentine Christian Romances by Small Presses

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so what more perfect time could there be to curl up with a good, clean Christian romance? This week, we’re highlighting nine Christian romances—both contemporary and historical—from three small Christian publishers. Small certainly doesn’t mean lesser quality, especially with these presses. So let’s support the smaller Christian publishers by picking up a few of these books. Let us know in the comments which ones you fall in love with!

Weddings, Willows, and Revised Expectations
by V. Joy Palmer
Seventeen years after being orphaned, Apryl Burns and her twin sister Courtney have their own expectations for life. While Courtney continues to shine at everything, Apryl holds fast to the mantra that as long as her potato chip stash remains intact, then she’ll be fine.

But when their beloved grandmother ends up injured and unable to manage her struggling antique store, Courtney makes it their mission to revamp the business and save what’s left of their family’s legacy. Despite rampant doubts in her abilities, Apryl finds herself trapped under the weight of family loyalty as they transition to a wedding venue decorating service. Soon she’s forced to ask (translation: blackmail) their grandmother’s renter/handyman, Chance McFarland, for help, an arrangement that is made even worse by the fact that Chance is her former (ahem, and current) crush.

Chance knows a few dozen things about family loyalty, which is why he begrudgingly agrees to Apryl’s insane plan. While Apryl claims they’re archenemies, the girl Chance only glimpsed in their teens starts to emerge, stealing what remains of his heart.

But expectations are a powerful thing. Amidst the glamorous weddings and swaying willows, can those old expectations be revised into something new?

I’m already swooning over these heroes. What about you? And there were a few authors names I recognized in that bunch. Roseanna has such an eye for quality when it comes to Christian romance.

The Not-So-Neutral Zone
by Susie and Sarah May Warren
One perfect day in Barcelona. One kiss that changed everything. One goodbye that broke my heart.

I’ve always been the overlooked sister, the forgotten friend, the girl in the background of everyone else’s love story. But when a handsome stranger rescued my purse—and then my entire day—I dared to believe my story might finally be starting.

Then he vanished. No explanation. No phone number. Not even a last name.

Classic.

Fast forward to six months later, when I discover my mystery man is Brody “Candy” Kane—NHL golden boy, my sister’s fiancé’s teammate—and he needs a favor. As in, a girlfriend to keep his reputation in good shape while he skates into a new contract. And frankly? I wouldn’t mind a date to my sister’s over-the-top wedding.

The deal: Fake date through wedding season. Break up amicably at the end. No harm, no foul.

The rules: Fake smiles for the cameras. Fake hand-holding for the fans. Absolutely, positively, no falling for each other for real.

The problem: The chemistry that sparked in Barcelona? Never actually went away. And pretending to be in love with someone you’re already halfway in love with?

Terrible idea. 0/10. Would not recommend.
Releasing March 2026, but you can preorder here.

The Other Side of Goodbye
by Heidi McCann
Sometimes the greatest love stories begin with the deepest losses.

When widow Tisha Binford arrives in Redemption, Alaska with her seven-year-old daughter Sadie, she’s carrying more than just their belongings—she’s carrying the weight of her late husband’s memory and the hope of giving Sadie a connection to the father she barely knew. Working at her in-laws’ café and perfecting her pie recipes, Tisha believes she’s building a quiet, safe life in this small coastal town.

But Redemption has other plans.

Ethan McGuire, a recently retired Coast Guard pilot, has returned home with his own heavy burden—raising his eight-year-old son Brody alone after losing his wife to cancer. Determined to be the father Brody needs, Ethan thinks he has his future mapped out: help with the family resort, support his struggling son, and keep his heart carefully guarded.

When a school conflict brings their children together as unlikely friends, Tisha and Ethan find themselves drawn into each other’s orbits. But moving forward means confronting painful questions: Can you honor the past while embracing the future? How do you teach children to love again when your own heart is still learning?

As Redemption faces an unexpected natural disaster, both families must discover that sometimes the other side of goodbye isn’t an ending—it’s the beginning of something beautiful, messy, and worth fighting for.

A heartwarming story about second chances, blended families, and the courage to love again, set against the stunning backdrop of small-town Alaska.

A Convenient Heart
by Lacy Williams
Spinster schoolmarm Merritt Harding is done waiting for the future she’s always wanted. Which is why she answered a mail-order bride ad and is anticipating her groom’s arrival on the eve of Christmas.

She’s about to get everything she’s dreamed of…

Except that the Jack who steps off the train can’t be the same man who wrote her letters. That Jack was a steady, mild-mannered businessman. This Jack is an enigma with flashing eyes and a pirate’s smile. He’s too charming, too keen, too perfect to be real.

And too secretive. What exactly is he hiding?

Jack wasn’t looking for a bride, only an escape from the danger chasing him. But the longer he stays in the small Wyoming town, the more he wants to stay. How can he, when his intended doesn’t even know his real name?

This sweet historical romance is perfect for fans of the following tropes: spinster schoolmarm; marriage of convenience; mistaken identity; and a swashbuckling hero.
