FOR TODAY May 18, 2009
Outside my window…Perfectly blue skies. Not a cloud. Not a jet contrail. Except for a little wind, it would be a perfect day. And it’s supposed to get warmer and warmer this week. Finally, a hint of summer!!
I am thinking…about the nice weekend we had visiting Doug’s 95 year old grandmother. She still lives alone and is upset because she probably won’t pass her driver’s test later this year. I hope not! She wanted Doug to buy her a step stool so she could clean her light fixtures. I’m glad he didn’t!
I am thankful for…the graciousness of my parents in taking care of our dog while we were gone. They never had a dog, so it’s wonderful they put up with her and her shedding.
From the learning rooms…Brian will finish science and language this week. The finish line is in sight for him.
From the kitchen…boy, I don’t know. I was gone all weekend, so I’m not sure what I even have in the freezer to create dinner.
I am creating…or trying to create a peaceful home.
I am wearing… a purple T-shirt, gray pants and I’ve graduated to my summer slippers. Woo hoo!
I am going…to piano lessons again. After this week, Alyssa will have a couple of weeks off.
I am reading…I read two books this weekend! I highly recommend SAHM I Am by Meredith Efken. Funny, funny, funny. Even if you aren’t a stay at home mom, you’ll love this book about a group of women on an email loop and their joys and trials as stay-at-home moms.
I am hoping…that this beautiful weather continues through the weekend. (I know. That might be asking just a little bit too much LOL!) My dad has his plant sale/ rummage and we are contributing to it and working at it. It will be so much more pleasant if it is pleasant!
I am praying…for my son.
Around the house…the radio is playing and Jonalyn is pretending to talk on her phone.
I am hearing…the head just kicked in. Bummer. It is still a cool morning.
One of my favorite things…toothpaste and toothbrushes. Imagine where we’d be without them!
A few plans for the rest of the week: the kids have dentist appointments, the cat has vet appointment, I need an oil change, I’m going to pick up some packages from Jonalyn’s orphanage they sent back with someone who recently adopted from there, and of course, my dad’s plant sale.
Here is picture thought I am sharing…

Sounds like a busy week! oH, how I envy that pretty weather, although as I sit here, I actually see the sun starting to peek through the clouds…maybe there is hope!
My grandmother had a wreck a couple of weeks ago and the family has decided not to let her drive anymore. We know it is the right decision, but it is so hard! She is so sad and depressed right now. It is sad how aging can be so cruel!
Have a great week!

Hi! Thanks for your comment on my daybook. I enjoyed reading yours. I’ve had fibro for about 25 years. It was ‘officially’ diagnosed a few years ago. Thanks for the tips on what to do. Could you email me? I have a question for you. Thanks.
