We arrived home from D*sney World a little after [6:00] last night. Boy, are we tired. But we had a great time. I’ll share bits and pieces of our trip over the next few days. I hope I don’t bore you all with the details, but I want to remember our vacation.
We had an uneventful trip down, getting to our resort just about the time I’d been aiming for. And let’s just say that Doug and I will NEVER be going on Amazing Race. We stayed at P*rt Orleans Riverside in Alligator Bayou. It was a nice room with 2 double beds and a trundle which was big enough for Brian. We didn’t take much time to settle in as we had dinner reservations at Tony’s Town Square Inn for dinner at the Magic Kingd*m. The food was quite good. And if you’re planning on going, GET THE DINING PLAN!!! We saved so much money that way and had more than enough to eat. So glad we did that. Anyway, then it was on to the race track cars, the tea cup ride, and “It’s a Small World”. I remember “It’s a Small World” from when I was a little girl. We also saw the show at Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor. Very funny!
We got a special needs pass for Jonalyn. She just couldn’t stand in those hour long lines. And we had her stroller marked as a wheelchair. While they emphasize it’s not for the purpose of decreasing your wait time, they always did let us in the fast pass lane and in a couple of cases, in the back way and right on the ride. We tried not to take advantage of it.
Doug & Brian then did the haunted house before we made our way back to our hotel. We didn’t stop to watch, but we did catch the parade as we walked down Main Street to the entrance. We used Disney provided transportation the entire week. The buses run continually and we never had to wait more than 15 minutes or so for one (except at Downtown D*sney). We also tried out the monorail and the boats. Loved them both. Next time we might stay at the P*lynesian resort so we can be on the monorail line. That was our favorite mode of transportation.
Sunday we met up with a wonderful friend and had a terrific time!! She is so sweet and her family is beautiful. We only wish our time together had been longer, but we enjoyed our time of sweet fellowship.
In the afternoon we headed over to Epc*t. We all rode Missi*n: Space. The less intense level was more than enough for me. Jonalyn loved it and wasn’t fazed at all by the movement of the ride. Doug, Brian & Alyssa wanted to try the more intense level and so they were off. Doug, Brian & I rode Test Track which simulates car tests. We all enjoyed Sp*ceship Earth. We walked through the world showcase, but were disappointed in the shopping there. We saw a few more shows, then headed by bus and boat to our restaurant for the evening – a good seafood buffet. Our way home took us through Hollywood Studios, so we scoped it out for the next day and rode the Star Wars ride. It was like taking a space ship trip.
Well, I’ve rambled on long enough and bored you all to tears. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
