Outside my window…Another perfect summer day, no clouds in the sky. We could really use some rain, though. My grass is getting brown.
I am thinking…about all I have to get done in the next hour before the home health care rep comes to evaluate Jonalyn for a new stroller.
I am thankful for…such beautiful summer weather. Though when we go up north in a couple of weeks, the water is going to be much too cold for the kids to go swimming.
From the learning rooms…Brian will finish pre-algebra this week. Woo hoo!
From the kitchen…just pizza tonight because Brian is having his 8th grade graduation party. Over the weekend, with the 50th anniversary party, we had a BBQ on Friday night with grilled chicken sandwiches, cake and punch after a delicious dinner out on Saturday and yesterday it was hot ham sandwiches before everyone had to leave.
I am creating…a plan of attack for everything that has to get done today.
I am wearing… sand colored shorts and a maroon V-neck T-shirt with 3/4 length sleeves. Need to look presentable for the home health care rep.
I am reading…nothing but the Bible. Sometimes that’s all you need!
I am hoping…that Alyssa has fun with her cousin’s at nature camp VBS this week in Illinois. This is the longest I’ve ever been away from her and I miss her so much already! Her presence brings such a light into this house.
I am praying…for Alyssa to have a good week. And for my body to recover quickly from the busyness of last weekend. With fibromyalgia, it takes me a while to bounce back. (No, I refuse to blame it on getting older!)
Around the house…it is still pretty clean from the weekend, but the dishwasher needs to be emptied, the decorations need to come down, and there is laundry to be done.
I am hearing…the cat protesting Jonalyn’s “affection”.
One of my favorite things…the little white Christmas lights strung in my sunroom. Because the room is almost all windows, the reflect and look like a million lights. With all the other lights off in the house, it looks so beautiful and peaceful.
A few plans for the rest of the week: after Brian’s party tonight, nothing out of the ordinary. Jonalyn has more therapy on Wednesday. We’ll go to Illinois with my parents on Friday night to see Alyssa’s VBS program and bring her home. Oh, and see some adoption friends who arrived home earlier this year with a little boy from her orphanage. Well, I guess I do have an exciting week coming up after all!
Here is picture thought I am sharing… my nieces and one lonely nephew (and my kids, too).
Peggy is taking a summer break from The Simple Woman’s Daybook, but you can continue to read daybook entries at Grandmother Wren.

You sound busy! I want to see a picture of the sun room with Christmas lights. I love twinkle lights.
