Outside my window…blue skies, tulips peeking out of the ground, the grass starting to green. I think it might be spring!
I am thinking…that I must make time to get a walk today. It’s a busy day, but I can’t waste such beautiful weather. It will get cold here again and we’ll probably even have more snow before everything is said and done.
I am thankful for…God’s faithfulness to his promises. Who else can you rely on like that?
From the learning rooms…a pretty normal week in school. Boy, do we need it. Alyssa is working on fractions in math and not liking them very much. Can’t say I blame her.
From the kitchen…ribs in the crock pot tonight. A side of sliced potatoes and onions, baked in foil in the oven. Tomorrow night will be stew in the crock pot. What a life save the crock pot is.
I am creating…last weekend I created a scrapbook. We had a scrapbook marathon at church and I completed 9 pages. Woo hoo! I’m almost done with 2009. Now I’m in the zone and I really want to keep going. I doubt I’m going to get anything done, though, until our next marathon.
I am wearing…jeans, a purple paisley long-sleeved T-shirt, a white fleece (it is chilly in the house) and my blue slippers.
I am reading…last night I finished “Secret Thoughts of an Adoptive Mother”. Fabulous book. She voiced some things I hardly let myself think about. But it’s wonderful to know there are other adoptive mothers out there who have the same thoughts I do.
I am hoping…to get Alyssa’s grades done by Thursday. I need to take them with me when we go to open house at the school on Thursday night.
I am praying…for a young mother who was widowed yesterday. Her husband died in his sleep. She has two small boys and a host of other issues.
I am going…to try to figure out a plan for our summer vacation. I thought I had it, but Doug had another idea that’s pretty good. Now I need to put some things together and get hotels before the rooms are all gone.
Around the house…not too bad. The dishwasher needs to be emptied and the breakfast dishes loaded in. I forgot to run it after dinner last night.
I am hearing…Alyssa reading her spelling assignment and asking me questions. The hum of the computer. Pretty quiet in here now.
One of my favorite things…seeing my kids understand something for the first time. There’s nothing like the light of understanding in their eyes. That’s what makes homeschooling so rewarding.
A few plans for the rest of the week: this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon Jonalyn has therapy, Thursday is open house at school, Friday is a late lunch with a dear friend, and the weekend looks quiet for a change. I plan to enjoy it!
Here is picture thought I am sharing: I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8)

I think I underuse my crock pot terribly! (we call is the slow-cooker here) It can save so much time and bother.
9 pages of scrapbooking – WOW! I feel good if I can do 2! LOL.
Have a nice week.

What a sweet pic. I need to start my walking again. With warmer weather here again, I can’t use that as an excuse anymore. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Several things:
First, that is terrible about the woman you mentioned who lost her husband. Very sad!
Second, I need to talk to you about this summer. It’s getting closer!
Third, I love the picture you shared.
And…I have been a total slacker with my daybook. Maybe when life slows down I can get back to it.
