From the back cover of A Tailor-Made Bride by Karen Witemeyer: “When a dressmaker who values beauty tangles with a liveryman who condemns vanity, the sparks begin to fly.”
Hannah Richards is a young woman come to Texas to establish a dress-making shop. Not only does she love pretty clothes, but everything that is beautiful. Jericho “J.T.” Tucker can’t stand shallow, frivolous women who think only of outward beauty. But Hannah Richards isn’t what she first appears to be.
I loved, loved, loved this book. It was funny. It was witty. It was not what I expected from a formula romance. It was so much more. The writing was fresh and unexpected. Hannah is a wonderful, well-developed character. She has strong motivation. She isn’t wimpy or simpering, yet she isn’t so independent that she looks down on others and we can’t like her. Karen Witemeyer does an excellent job of writing this character.
This is a great, light, amusing book perfect for reading on your summer vacation.
