This past week, Alyssa has been at camp. We all missed her, but Jonalyn more than anyone. She didn’t have her buddy around and was rather lost and lonely. I was busy writing and so on Thursday, Jonalyn decided to amuse herself. I sat on the front porch to write because it was a beautiful day and Jonalyn came out with me. She swang, she played basketball, then disappeared into the back yard to swing again. A little while later she came to me with a red sand pail in her hands. “Look, Mommy.” I looked. The bucket was filled with red petals from my impatients and begonias. Yup, stripped clean. And that pot on the back patio had looked really beautiful. Sigh.
Letters from Alyssa at camp. (The butterflies she refers to are nervous stomach butterflies.)
Dear Mom and Daddy, (Brian & Jonalyn)
