As you can see, this weekend was busy, but great. We had a wonderful time at the chili dinner on Friday night. Saturday was spent running errands and doing chores. Not an all bad way to spend a Saturday.
On to my thankful things. Catching up:
Day 6 – I’m thankful for the school Brian and Alyssa go to. It’s not perfect – no school is – but the teachers there love the kids and love the Lord. I feel they are getting a great education. From what one graduate’s parents tell me, the school has a great reputation around the area as being tough. While I miss homeschooling, it’s been a good decision to send them.
Day 7 – I’m thankful for the wonderful pastors I’ve heard the past couple of Sundays. Yesterday we went to our daughter church, to support them. The pastor spoke on the passage about the Sadducees who asked if there would be marriage in heaven. He emphasized that, because of Christ, God has prepared a place for us in heaven that is beyond anything we can imagine. Better than the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone or the Caribbean Islands? You’re right – I can’t imagine it. If God gave us this beautiful planet for now, while we are sinful people, heaven will be mind-blowing.
Day 8 – I’m thankful Alyssa didn’t break her arm. I spent the morning taking her to the doc and getting X-rays because she hurt her arm playing volleyball at recess on Friday. She doesn’t complain, but yesterday she couldn’t carry anything with that arm and couldn’t write. So in she went. It’s a sprain. Thank goodness. Maybe I’ll think twice about encouraging her to play volleyball 🙂
