We ended up with a glancing blow from the storm, but because of the blowing and drifting, it’s impossible to tell how much we got. It was much worse east and south of here. Our old house in Racine is probably buried. We did all have the day off together, though, which is rare. Now the roads are pretty clear and everyone is back to their regular activities, though Milwaukee and south are still digging out.
Here are a few pictures from our yard. In some places, the snow is up to Doug’s waist. We’ve had to clear a path for the dog to go – even though she’s a black lab, the snow is deeper than she is. On the porch roof, the snow was drifted half way up the windows. With the sun yesterday afternoon, some of it melted.
You’re going to have to come through the garage if you visit us – it’s going to be a while before we find our step and porch!
The east side of the sunroom. Again, the steps have disappeared.
But the best drift in the yard is this one. It’s all swirled up against the sunroom on the west side.
