Isn’t it amazing how perfect God’s timing is? And how great His provision?
If you’ve watched the national news at all, you’ve most likely seen all the turmoil going on in the state of Wisconsin with the public employees. Well, Doug is a public employee. I promise I won’t get into politics. Let’s just say we’re being pulled in two directions. At the very least, Doug will lose some benefits and this will result in a substantial pay cut for us. In addition, we will probably loose some of the help we get from the state for Jonalyn’s special needs. A worst case scenario – the cuts will affect our business, which involves renting houses to a non-profit organization which runs homes for developmentally challenged adults (like Jonalyn will be in 13 years).
I have to admit, I get nervous about things like this. I hate living on the edge. But God’s timing is perfect. For years, I wrote and wrote and got nothing published. Then we sent the kids back to school and I had time to write. The kids were only in school for a month before I got my first contract. God’s perfect timing. Just a week or two ago, I received the second half of my advance. Perfect timing. The opportunities for writing keep coming to me. I have no guarantee that any of them will come to fruition, but I’m trusting. I have great faith that God is going to use my writing to help us in these difficult economic times. I’m so excited to see what He will do.
