We are 13 hours away from Jonalyn’s surgery. She has had her “last supper”, as one of the kids put it, and has been scrubbed clean.

Over the past few days, we have been trying to prepare her. I’ve told her, “You’re going to the hospital on Friday. You will go to sleep there and while you are sleeping, the doctor will fix your legs. When you wake up, there will be some owies, but they will give you medicine to make you feel better. Mommy and Daddy will be with you all the time.”

Don’t know if she understands.

I caught Brian telling her that tomorrow they are going to cut off her legs. Don’t you love big brothers???

Then she came to me tonight after her bath and was talking about her knees and I’m sure I heard something about cut off.

We appreciate all of your prayers for us. Tomorrow will be the beginning of a long 3-6 month process to full recovery.
