Enrichment is going on around here. School started again today for all three. Whoopie!
Please ignore Brian’s expression. These high school seniors. What can I say? And ignore the fact that they were both wearing jackets. It’s in the upper 80s today. Maybe going back to school inspires them crack out the fall attire.
Jonalyn didn’t want to smile for me, either. This was the best I could get. She was a little apprehensive of a new school. She cheered up when I told her that her favorite aid from her old school would be with her today. The special van she’ll use until she’s better was late this morning – as in, they were 25 minutes late and Jonalyn was late for school.
They will be getting enrichment for the next nine months. For Brian, it’s his last formal school for a while. Next year at this time, he’ll be getting ready to graduate from Marine boot camp. It’s hard to believe. Excuse me while I sob.
Doug is getting enrichment. He is now required to take classes to keep his Professional Engineer license. The classes are online and he’s finding that he enjoys learning that way.
I’m taking a plotting class this month. It’s appropriate as I’m plotting my second World War II novel, this one set in Germany and East Prussia. Not only am I learning so much from my class, but also from my research. Wow! One question I had took me all morning to answer. I thought it would be the easiest of the questions I need to research. The next question I tackled only took five minutes for me to find the information I needed and I thought it would be tough to come by. All of it was exciting.
Enrichment is a life-long process. What’s the old saying? You learn something new everyday. We continue to grow as students, professionals, people, and believers as we pursue enrichment. You stretch as you make discoveries.
What enrichment (formal or informal) have you taken part of lately?

What a great E word! We just moved to a new home, so I guess I’m being enriched by a whole new city. Enjoy the rest of your day!

And how often enrichment comes when we think there is only struggle ahead.
At first we struggle through night feeds and such to get to know this new being in our lives, then all of a sudden we have to struggle through not having them at arms reach.

Nice post. Love the pictures of the kids. Enrichment for me has been learning how to build a website, learning how to manage the pages and posts (WordPress is new to me. I like blogspot better, it’s more user friendly.) I’ve also taken several classes through ACFW for the last few months, learning how to write humor, description, dialog. I’ve also been learning how to be an affiliate online. Whew. I’m on overload where learning is concerned! 🙂
