The word Selah often appears in the Psalms. It’s God saying to us that we need to pause and think about what He has said to us.
Linny over at A Place Called Simplicity is challenging us this Christmas season to pause and remember the things the Lord has done for us this year.
And I have some much to be thankful for. Namely, that I’m here to celebrate this Christmas. I am so thankful that I found that lump and that I had a doctor who, though the first biopsy was negative, insisted that I have surgery and have it sooner rather than later. I am so thankful that the Lord caused me to find it when it was early. Thankful that, though I endured two surgeries and radiation, I didn’t have to have chemo. I was tired – really tired – but my family pitched in to help. My church family rallied around me and my family. I wasn’t nauseous and didn’t loose my hair. I feel like I was just grazed by a bullet instead of shot in the heart.
All things to be so thankful for. So, it’s good to pause this season and be thankful that I’m here. It doesn’t matter that my shopping isn’t done, that my house isn’t clean and that I haven’t begun to tackle the baking. I’m here with my family. Thank you, Lord.
