The series title (so far) for the three books I sold to Thomas Nelson is Women of Courage. It tells the story of three very courageous women in very different circumstances during WWII. The strength, resiliency, and faith of each of these women is amazing.
Courage isn’t about sitting around talking about how courageous you are. It’s about being courageous, doing something courageous. Some people go out in search of adventure which requires courage. More often than not, though, situations which require courage find us. That’s what happens to the heroines in each of my books.
WWII forced women all over the world to dig deep and find courage they never knew they had. The more and more I do research for the books, I overturn more and more stories of courageous women. They didn’t have a choice about it. They had to be courageous in order to survive.
One thing I stress in the books is that courage doesn’t come from ourselves but from the Lord. He is the one who strengthens and sustains.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 1 Timothy 1:7.
What situations have you faced that required courage you never knew?
