What a great weekend Jonalyn had! On Saturday evening, as I was making dinner, she came walking in from the family room – all on her own, without holding onto anything!! She waddles because her hip muscles need to get stronger, but she was walking unassisted.
Of course, this was nothing compared to the scare she gave me Saturday morning. I woke her up, then went to wake up Brian so he could carry her downstairs. I returned to her room to dress her, but she wasn’t there. Then I heard her little voice. 2/3 of the way down the stairs. Oh my, talk about heart failure.
All day yesterday, she walked by herself, so Saturday wasn’t a fluke. Everyone who saw her was so impressed that just 6 weeks post surgery, she is walking by herself. It is huge.
She is one determined little girl. Her spunk and spirit have served her well throughout this ordeal and in her entire life. She is going to ride that bus as soon as she possibly can.
Thank you so much for your prayers for her. She still has many months of therapy ahead, but she loves it all. Praise God for her determined spirit.

I just saw this post now. I can’t believe it has been a month that she has been walking on her own. That is terrific news!
