Life isn’t static. It doesn’t stand still but always marches forward, whether we want it to or not.
Like a kaleidoscope, my life is ever changing. The scenes in front of me play like a movie. The seasons change outside my window.
My oldest child, my only boy, is preparing to graduate high school and serve in the Marines. Next year at this time, my family will look very different. (And my poor husband will be terribly outnumbered by girls.)
My oldest daughter is on the brink of teenager-hood. My youngest daughter is growing and learning new things every day.
I’ve signed my first multi-book contract. No more am I Liz Tolsma, wife, mom and writer. I’m Liz Tolsma, best-selling author and speaker (and wife and mom),
While I’d been thinking of changing the title and theme of this blog to reflect the changing seasons of life, we sang this hymn at church:
Through all the changing scenes of life,
In trouble and in joy,
The praises of my God shall still
My heart and tongue employ.
You can listen to the melody that’s on our hymnal here.
I love the first verse of this hymn and it reflects the idea I wanted to convey.
I’ll be sharing my troubles and my joys as a wife, mother and author. I’ll be inviting other authors to do the same – and some non-authors as well. Things are changing here – for the better, hopefully.
