This week’s letter is G and I’m GIDDY over it!
Oh! Yes! GIDDY!
Before I get to the good part, do you like the new look of my blog?? It’s a work in progress, I’ll admit. It’s going to get better as the days go on. And in a few days, I’ll post why I chose to rename it Changing Scenes.
Back to the GIDDY part.
I’m so GIDDY to be able to announce that I have signed a three book contract with Thomas Nelson publishers!!!
Oh! Yes! GIDDY!
The first book, Snow on the Tulips, should release next fall. I’ve turned in the manuscript already and it’s being edited. Yes, I have an editor and an editing schedule! They are now working on cover art, too.
Oh! Yes! GIDDY!
If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll remember that Snow on the Tulips is set in the Netherlands during the closing days of WWII. It grew out of two family stories that had been passed down. You can click here to read more of the true story.
Back cover copy, which I’m sure will change before the book comes out: The Germans have taken everything Dutch war widow Cornelia De Vries had to give, even what was most precious to her. Now Gerrit Laninga – a Resistance worker who puts God and country above all else – arrives at her house, needing help she’s not sure she can give, asking the impossible of her. She is terrified for herself and terrified for her family, but most of all, terrified of the pain she might feel again if she allows herself to love Gerrit. When things start to unravel and Gerrit’s life depends on her actions, she must summon the courage and learn to depend on the Perfect Love that drives out all fear. But will her new love be snatched away before it has a chance to bloom?
In the next few months, I’ll share with you the publishing process. I’m GIDDY to be working with Thomas Nelson Publishers. They are a well-respected Christian publisher that has been around for over 200 years. I’m privileged to be working with a great group of editors and a tops-in-the-industry sales and marketing team.
In the mean time, I’m writing book two. This one is currently titled Daisies Last Forever and is another family story that takes place in East Prussia and in Berlin at the end of the war. It’s from the point of view of a German American caught in Germany during the war.
O.K., enough of GIDDY!!! I have a book to write 🙂
