We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend with my parents at the cabin. Too bad we didn’t take pictures đ The weather was warm, but not too warm to sit for a while on the porch. My favorite thing to do up there.
We aimed to be out the door about 1 pm on Friday and were close to it, but then Doug discovered that my parents’ car had a flat tire. Yup, a screw. Fortunately, we don’t have much around here, but we do have a car repair place. They patched the tire promptly and we only lost about an hour of time. Good to know you have a tire that’s filled with air.
We had hoped to do some shopping by the Amish, but only had time to stop at the bakery. You must prioritize, you know đ I’m glad we were able to finally take my parents there.
Saturday, we all went to the nearby flea market. We didn’t find many treasures, but I did get a zebra print snuggie, perfect for writing on cold winter days.
Saturday afternoon, the girls wanted to go outlet mall shopping, so we set out for the Dells. Alyssa came back with the most: two camis, a blouse for a wedding in October, and a pair of jeans. I scored two pairs of shoes. While shoes have never been my thing, I seem to be buying a lot of them lately.
Sunday, we worshiped at the church we like while we are there, and then we enjoyed our day of rest. I cooked a big, traditional Sunday dinner, though we did have to improvise because I didn’t have all the right cooking gadgets. Rest easy – it turned out well!
We had a quick lunch of grilled chicken sandwiches on Monday – the last cookout of the year. So sad.
And that’s a wrap on summer. Hope you all had a good one. What did you do over the Labor Day weekend?
