It’s been a rough couple of days here. She seemed to be doing well with our new med routine, but still wasn’t eating much. She hasn’t had much of an appetite, and she really needs the calories. Anyway, on Friday she started having accidents – big time. My washer got such a work out. Doug suggested it might be a urinary tract infection, so I took her into the doctor on Saturday. Doug & Brian were at the cabin, so it was up to me & Alyssa to get Jonalyn out of the house & into the van, along with the wheelchair. I figured someone at valet parking could help me when I got there. Wrong. They only have valet parking during the week. Ugh. I was on my own. I have the bruises to prove how tough that was.
Anyway, yes, it turned out to be a UTI. We got home & started her on the antibiotics. Trouble is, she couldn’t stomach those, either. Another load of laundry. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. So, she’s completely off her pain med & doing well without it. We are given her less of her anitbiotic more frequently and that seems to be working – so far, anyway.
She starts PT tomorrow. I don’t know what I’m going to do about the wheelchair. I might have to use her stroller instead. That I can handle.
Needless to say, by Sunday I was exhausted. Doug had to take offering at both the morning and evening services, so I stayed home with Jonalyn. That was perfect. I layed on the couch and watched two seasons of Say Yes to the Dress. Addicting. I made some dinner and went back to the couch. I feel much better today.
Thank you for all of the prayers. Please keep them coming. I need continued strength to be able to take care of Jonalyn. She needs relief from her pain (which doesn’t seem too bad). She goes back to school next week and needs to be better than she is now so she can go.
We appreciate all of you.
