The letter B is for…
BIRTHDAYS!
At our house, we do birthdays in batches. We thought long and hard about adopting Jonalyn because her birthday is in August – just kidding. Back on December 17th, Alyssa turned 12. My, what a young lady she’s becoming.
Now that she has an ipod and an aero t-shirt, she’s a true teenager. Did you know you can get an app and turn your ipod into a phone? We didn’t. Well, she can keep in touch with her friends now. Yup, she’s a true teen. The poor kid had to decorate her own cake because I was sick. I think she did a great job!
Doug’s b-day was on Christmas day. I thought I had pictures, but I can’t find them.Well, he’s modest. I baked him a Christmas tree cake and decorated with those edible gold balls we found in the Amish grocery store. It was cute. Wish I could show you. He got a trail cam to keep track of the wild animals on our property. Hope that means he gets a turkey this spring and a deer this fall!
On Wednesday, I celebrated my birthday. No pictures of that, either. Maybe later. My girlfriend and I went out for lunch, got massages, and did some shopping on my big day. It was great. She spoils me 😉
Sunday was the “party” with my family. My mom found lactose free ice cream and made me my dream ice cream cake. She’s the best, especially since the cake gave her fits. Did you know that frosting doesn’t stick to ice cream? Neither did I. But it tasted great. I got stuff for the new house. Well, the new kitchen, anyway. I now have a cutting board and an electric frying pan. I can’t cook without one.
Two of my nieces, my two brothers-in-law and my dad now have their birthdays coming up, then Brian’s on February 15. Wow. Then we can breathe until August LOL!
