It has been a whirlwind of a week, between finishing my appearances for A Log Cabin Christmas and getting ready for the celebration in our house. Then there is the little thing of a certain girl’s 12th birthday coming tomorrow.
While I won’t win any awards for how my home is decorated, I think I did pretty well this year.
Again, using the fresh greens instead of fake stuff. It makes such a difference.
The picture is rather dark, but when I used flash, you didn’t get the effect of the lights on top of the hutch. It makes the dining area pretty. That’s our advent calendar hanging on the cabinet. In each pocket is a verse for the day – we are looking at Old Testament prophecies and how Jesus fulfilled them. We each get a piece of candy every day, too! That’s not in the pockets or the dog would eat it all.
I even decided to spruce up (forgive the pun!!) my kitchen counter. This is simple, but the ornaments shine under the lights. So pretty.
Again, a little dark. I took down my huge blue star because it looked out of place next to the tree. Then I needed to hide the nail, so I made this wreath myself for $2. Not bad. The ribbon shimmers, but you can’t tell that in the picture.
And finally, my tree. Be nice – it took me over an hour yesterday to get the middle section of lights to light. Urg. Doug will have better pictures on Christmas day, I have no doubt.
