…Sara! Congratulations! Your dream of a bakery with cupcakes and muffins sounds delicious. Let us know what that becomes a reality so we can all visit. I’ve sent you a private email, but if you don’t get it, please contact me so I can get your prize out to you.
Those of you who didn’t win, all is not lost. Remember, this is a month-long celebration!! So, starting today, we have a new contest. Near the end of the story, Adie bakes Noah a spice cake for Christmas dinner. I can’t send you a spice cake, but I’ll send the next best thing – a yummy smelling candle and a signed copy of my book.
You’re going to have to work for it again, though. The spice cake is a special treat Adie makes for the one she loves. What is something special you’ve done for the one you love?
I’ll play along. Mine is related to food as well, but yours doesn’t have to be. Every year for Thanksgiving, I make Doug oyster dressing. None of us likes it (that’s 15 or 16 of us on a given year), but his mom always made it. Since she has gone home to be with the Lord, I’m keeping that traditional alive. The oysters stink up the house, but I know how special it is to him.
Can’t wait to read your stories!!

My first year of marriage, I cut all the little “Love Is” cartoons out of the newspaper and mounted them on cardstock. Then I tucked them into a jar with chocolate kisses and presented them for my sweet hubby’s office desk.

Oddly it was throwing him a surprise birthday party. I’m not a social person–not even close so to have a party was far out of my comfort zone. My husband however doesn’t know a stranger and loves to attend anything.
He thought he was meeting our kids for dinner instead I had room full of friends-some he’d had been friends with since he was very small.
Best gift I’ve ever surprised him with.
Diana
