Are you flying your flag today? I am, in gratitude for all of those who sacrificed their lives so that we can live ours in freedom. I don’t think I realized how truly blessed we are in this country until I traveled to a communist country. Praise the Lord that our families chose to leave their homelands and come to this place so their children and grandchildren could live a better, freer life. Praise the Lord for the men and women who gave their all to preserve this freedom. We should not be casual or cavalier about this.

We enjoyed the day. My parents and a family friend who is like a second mother came over. It was so hot that we spent most of the day inside where it is cool. On the menu: honey Dijon grilled chicken, homemade fries, corn, watermelon, and cream puffs. Doug cooked the chicken to perfection. Yummy. We watched the hummingbirds at the feeder while we ate. Low key, but a nice day all in all.
