Annie Weaver, an RN at a hospital in Philadelphia, is called home to her Amish community in an emergency. She’d always planned to come back, but not in this way. She clashes with the traditional Amish “doctor”, Samuel Yoder, and they must learn to work together. But will his commitment to a young woman in Ohio jeopardize their budding romance?

I enjoyed this sweet book by Vannetta Chapman. This is the first book I’ve read about Christmas in the Amish community and it fascinated me. While traditions differ between communities, it gave me a sense of what Christmas must be like for them. The book was gentle and well-written. Curl up with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy it!
