FOR TODAY September 14, 2010
Outside my window…sunny now, but it’s supposed to cloud up later today. The weather the past few days has been gorgeous. Gotta love fall.
I am thankful for… great health care here in the U.S. Doug has had one trip to the doc, Jonalyn & I have had two. Each time I was able to get in the same day and get the prescriptions filled right away. I won’t get political here, but I’m just saying…
From the learning rooms…Brian and Alyssa continue to do well in school. For the most part, their grades have been good. We finally have a permanent morning aid for Jonalyn, but we’re still working on the afternoons. Having the gym teacher work with her on math isn’t cutting it for us.
From the kitchen…meatloaf tonight. Good, old fashioned comfort food.
I am wearing…my favorite pair of jeans, a red, short-sleeved sweater, and my blue fleece. It’s a little chilly in the house this morning.
I am creating…the first chapter of the first book in a three book series I hope to pitch at the American Christian Fiction Writer’s conference this weekend. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.
I am going…to work for a little while. Need to get some stuff done there before I leave. Then pick up the kids from school and get some stuff done a home!
I am reading…just my own work these days.
I am hoping…for safe travel to Indianapolis and for good reception of my work from the editors I will meet with. Please pray for those things for me.
I am hearing…the humming of the refrigerator. That’s it.
Around the house…trying desperately to get organized. My life will be easier if I could accomplish that one thing. Making some progress, but need to do much more.
One of my favorite things…fall. It’s my favorite time of the year – warm clothes, hot cider, chili, colorful leaves, the smell of wood burning in fireplaces again. Ahhh.
A few plans for the rest of the week: finish the writing I need to get done, get the house in order for while I’m gone, get packed, go to the ACFW conference!!!!, meet lots of wonderful people, get lots of offers for manuscripts (praying hard about that one), see my college girlfriend, whom I haven’t seen in five years, since the last time I went to an ACFW conference. Wow, what an exciting week!!
Here is picture for thought I am sharing…
This is my friend Kelly & I the last time we saw each other. I’m simply dying to see her again.
