In August, we enjoyed another fabulous camping trip, this time to a state park near Madison. It was so beautiful. These pictures were taken on a hike Doug & I took. It was supposed to be a one mile hike. It turned into three miles. But it was very nice.
There was a beautiful water fall. We hiked to that a couple of times. Jonalyn even made the trek.
The water wore away the back of this rock. And it was so cool and refreshing down here on a hot day. What is a camping trip without s’mores? Jonalyn loved getting all gooey.
The mosquitoes were really bad this summer, so we bought a screened-in tent. It was great to sit in there and not worry about getting bit. The picnic table fit in there, so that’s where we ate. Also notice our pretty lights.
It was hot and humid that week. When we weren’t enjoying the air conditioning in our camper, we were in the lake. Jonalyn learned the word lake, and woke up every morning asking if we could go to the lake now! She never wanted to get out of the water.
We’re getting good at camping and enjoying it more and more each time. We didn’t want to leave. Next year we’ll have to try to camp for a longer time.
