We decided that after a lot of running around we needed a break. We slept in quite late and had breakfast at the hotel. The kids and Doug swam while I did laundry. We finally got going and headed across the street to Dairy Queen for lunch. Then we decided we’d better do something and decided to go to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. There are 5 museums in one – Buffalo Bill, a gun museum (that’s the one Brian liked with guns from Dick Cheney’s to King Louis’), a Plains Indian museum with lovely bead work, a natural history museum, and a western art museum which included beautiful landscapes and some Remingtons. No one was really much in the museum mood, though, so we didn’t end up staying very long. In fact, the only pictures we took were of some things I wanted for historical research. We then did some shopping along Cody’s main street, but didn’t buy anything. Everyone was pretty tired and we all had something at DQ that didn’t sit too well in our stomachs. The kids went swimming again before dinner at the family restaurant next door. Our stomachs just weren’t right.
We didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to go to a real rodeo, though, so every one but Brian headed to the Cody Rodeo Night. It ended up being lots of fun. They prayed before starting, which was very touching. There were rodeo clowns which told jokes, bucking broncos, individual and team roping, barrel racing and bull riding. Jonalyn, of course, loved. She clapped and cheered the entire time. Definitely the best part of the day.

Seeing the rodeo pictures reminds me of that movie 8 Seconds. What did you think about those cowboys? Not much cuter than a cowboy in Wranglers! Heehee!
