Doug had Friday off of work, so we decided to venture into Milwaukee. Our first stop was at Miller Park. As Braves fans, they were pleased to see some Braves memorabilia there.
From there we went to Discovery World kid’s museum. We enjoyed the aquarium.
The kids got to touch some sturgeon, sting rays, starfish and sea urchins. The adults did, too.
We toured the deck of an old ship.
By then, everyone was hungry, so we ate our picnic lunch sitting on a deck literally on Lake Michigan. The weather was perfect – warm with no lake breeze. Even sitting on the water like that, we weren’t cold at all.
We then took a quick look around the technology section of the museum.
Then we were off, with a stop at Lake Michigan. We had to have our Southern friends put their feet in the water. It was a bit chilly for them! The kids enjoyed getting wet.
We didn’t spend much time there because we had a reservation for a tour of the Sprecher Brewery. The tour was so-so, but the tasting was great. We could taste up to 4 beers and all 7 of their sodas. We aren’t big beer people, but we found a couple we liked. The soda is great – root beer, orange dream (tastes just like a dreamsicle), cola, and cherry cola. We really liked the cherry cola. And it’s all caffeine free!
Before heading home, we went out for Chinese food. All in all, a pretty perfect day. I can’t begin to tell you how sweet the fellowship was. Katie and Alyssa were kindred spirits and were together constantly. In Sabrina, I feel like I have found another sister. We miss them terribly. Come back soon, dear friends!

Great pictures!! And yes, we will go back. The fellowship was wonderful, and the friendships are, well, priceless! Although I am glad to be back home, I miss you terribly, too. By the way, I must work out with Denise this week. When I stepped on the scale….whoa!
