FOR TODAY May 18, 2010
Outside my window…beautiful sunshine, the promise of warmer weather, my lilacs blooming as well as my creeping phlox. Loving it!
I am thinking…about all I have to get done in the next two days before my dad’s plant sale!
I am thankful for…my God who has promised to be with me and to comfort me though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Why did I always miss that part?
From the learning rooms…Alyssa is done with school. Woo hoo! Brian got a 100 on his research paper (way to go!). He has exams next week. Everything is winding down toward summer.
From the kitchen…spaghetti. Doug has a late meeting, so the kids & I will have to eat early. He needs something he can grab out of the crock pot when he gets home.
I am creating…a beautiful garden. Planting needs to get done today & I hope to buy my annuals for my pots, too.
I am wearing…yoga pants, a white T-shirt, tennis shoes.
I am reading…”A Tailor-Made Bride”. Excellent book! Watch for my review, probably some time next week.
I am hoping…that the plant sale this weekend goes well.
I am praying…for a very personal request – still. Will you pray with me?
I am going…to the plant store, to Menards, to the farm store, to Kohls, to Target, to Joanne’s, to the post office, to my parents. Is that enough for one day?? When I’m in town, I have to get a lot done.
Around the house…it’s a real mess. But no time to clean it this week.
I am hearing…the shower running for Alyssa. Otherwise, it’s quiet.
One of my favorite things…working in my garden. There aren’t many better things in my book.
A few plans for the rest of the week: I’m meeting a dear friend for the first time on Saturday!! She’s a wonderful woman that I met through an adoption email loop. I’m so excited!! Hope I don’t forget my camera.
Here is picture thought I am sharing: Next door to Doug’s grandma is a body shop. Brian spied all of these old muscle cars over there, and that’s just what he’s into right now. He went over there, chatted with the owner for quite a while, and took a bunch of pictures – inside, outside, every little detail. Too bad we don’t live there. Brian could get a job there!
To see other daybooks, go to The Simple Woman. Enjoy!

Enjoy your gardening. I have so many plans, and so little time…
My eldest daughter is CRAZY about muscle cars (I can’t say I can see why..) she’d love to look at some like that!

I will be praying with you over the request. The Lord knows the need.
