Outside my window…my tulips are coming up, as well as my surprise lilies, and my yellow peony survived the winter! Hopefully it will bloom this year. I took the straw off the roses on Saturday and they all show signs of life. Some will need more rose food than others, but my garden is looking good. With the warm weather predicted for this week, the grass should green. My star magnolia will bloom in the next couple of weeks. I saw some forsythia just turning yellow this morning.
I am thinking…about getting through this week and on to Easter and break and all the activities we have planned. Boy, do I need some time off!
I am thankful for…spring! Warmth!
From the learning rooms…we’re having school in my bedroom today. The sun is coming in the window and this room is much warmer than our basement classroom or the kitchen. I could get used to this! Brian is plugging along with the notecards for his research paper. He had a geography test yesterday and I’m holding my breath in anticipation of his grade.
From the kitchen…I’m getting serious about my diet. If I don’t, I’ll need to buy all new clothes (and I just ordered the cutest jacket from Coldwater Creek!), so it will be salad for me for dinner. The rest of the family will have hamburger and noodles – browned ground beef, cream of mushroom soup and egg noodles. Quick and easy since Brian has a doctor’s appointment at 6.
I am creating…my next chapter. Actually, it’s done, I just need to read through it one more time before it goes out to the crit partners. That will probably happen tomorrow while I’m at therapy with Jonalyn.
I am wearing…jeans, a blue long-sleeved T with light blue flowers, a fleece, and my old blue slippers.
I am reading…nothing right now, but I’m going to the store this afternoon to pick up something to read during break. I have a bunch of books on my Kindle for PC, but it’s not very convenient to carry my laptop everywhere I go.
I am hoping…that I get plenty of rest during the break and that we can stand each other home all day together for a week!
I am praying…for a young couple in church, who, after 2 years of trying, are finally expecting. She’s so sick, so I’m praying for relief from that, and that she will carry to full term. I know they’re a little nervous and I can’t blame them!
I am going…to be productive this week. If I say it often enough, will it happen?
Around the house…got the laundry folded. Woo hoo! No picking clothes out of the basket for a few days.
I am hearing…the heat running, Alyssa playing in her room, not much else. It’s very quiet here today.
One of my favorite things…dressing up for Easter. The girls have new dresses and I hope to get Brian a new shirt. I bought a new top to go with an old skirt. I don’t think anyone will notice.
A few plans for the rest of the week: I have a busy day in work tomorrow – have to get the newsletter out and I haven’t even started it! Think I’ll have to go in a little early. Alyssa will have to do her work with me in the office. Jonalyn has therapy tomorrow, break starts on Friday. Things are winding down heading toward our week off.
Here is picture thought I am sharing: the girls and their Easter eggs last year. Jonalyn had so much fun dyeing them! May you all have a blessed Easter as you celebrate our Lord’s resurrection.
To see other daybooks, go to The Simple Woman. Enjoy!
