FOR TODAY March 2, 2010
Outside my window…the heavy frost we had last night is melting from the trees. It was supposed to be sunny, but so far I only see clouds. I want the sun to come out. (Does that sound whiny 😉
I am thinking…that I have to stay organized in order to get everything done I need to this week.
I am thankful for…my husband who’s not afraid to pitch in and help me out around here when I need it.
From the learning rooms…exam week. Alyssa is about to start her math exam now.
From the kitchen…shepherd’s pie. I need something ready and waiting in the fridge so Doug can just pop it in the oven because I have to take Jonalyn to therapy tonight.
I am creating…nothing right now. Don’t have a spare minute. I need to order the pictures for my all day scrap, but haven’t gotten that far yet.
I am wearing..my new favorite pair of stretch jeans (so comfortable), an orange fisherman’s cable sweater, my blue slippers and the afghan.
I am reading…I Wish for You a Beautiful Life. It’s a collection of letters from Korean birthmothers to their children. It’s beautiful and sad and wonderful all at the same time. It’s good for me to see adoption from the other side of the fence. These mothers love their children so much. It’s the only reason they are able to place them for adoption. They want so many good things for them. At some point, I’ll have both of the kids read the book, but I don’t think either is ready for it yet. There are some pretty harsh realities discussed in it. But I want them to know, even if they never meet any birth family, their birthmothers loved them to the extreme and still love them.
I am hoping…for a little warm weather.
I am praying…for someone I have a disagreement with. I want to pray, “Lord, let this person see things my way.” I have to avoid that. But I see their behavior as very destructive.
I am going…to go crazy if another person calls me Christine-Can-You-Today. The answer is no!
Around the house…trying to keep things in some kind of order. It’s hard because I haven’t been home much and won’t be again this week.
I am hearing…the washer and dryer going, the creak of the floor upstairs as the dog moves around, Alyssa’s pencil moving in her math book.
One of my favorite things…having dinner ready for me when I walk in the door after a long day. It’s doesn’t happen often, but I love it when it does.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Jonalyn has therapy twice this week, both the dog and cat have to go to the vet, work, nothing very fun.
Here is picture thought I am sharing: My handsome hubby. He and Alyssa were goofing around and she took this picture of him. I don’t know what’s in his hand!

The book you are reading sounds interesting, but very sad!! I must see if I can find it here. I’m always interested in adoption stories, but have never heard of this scenario before.. I hope your week turns out ok, even if you have nothing fun planned.
