On Friday night, Doug, Brian & Alyssa went snow tubing with our youth group, which left me and Jonalyn alone to hang out. I decided I felt like P*nera’s chicken noodle soup for dinner. It’s low fat and soooo good. I ordered some to go because I just wanted to sit with my feet up and relax after a super busy day. As we were walking out of the restaurant, Jonalyn said to me, “No. I eat now.”
L: “No, we’re going to eat it at home.”
J: “Eat noodle chicken soup now.”
L: “At home.”
I got her into the car at last, but decided to make one more stop to look at kitchen counter tops for our remodel.
Scene: walking into the store.
J: “No, I eat noodle chicken soup now.”
L: “After we shop. Then we’ll go home and eat soup.”
J: “Eat now.”
L: “We’ll shop now and eat it at home.”
J: “Home?”
L: “Yes.”
She reluctantly took my hand and went into the store. But she wasn’t happy.
Scene: Leaving the store
L: “We’re going home now to eat soup.”
J: “Yeah!”
For those of you new here (welcome, by the way) this is huge for Jonalyn. She used words to make her feelings known. She got her point across to me. And we had a conversation. I can’t believe how her language is exploding. Wow! With all the birthday’s in our home recently, she’s even learned how to say birthday. Now, you might not be able to understand it, but I sure know what she is saying.
