Outside my window…Indian summer continues. This has been crazy weather. Everyone in the neighborhood was out yesterday putting up their Christmas lights. We’ll take what we can get. There is snow in the forecast for Thursday.
I am thinking…about how I really need to get some sleep.
I am thankful for…cough medicine. We’ve had H1N1 and I think that helped keep my case mild, even though I have asthma. I’m thankful we all had light cases and that we got it before the holidays.
From the learning rooms…a short, easy week for everyone because of the holiday. Alyssa is wishing we could skip handwriting this week. Nice try, but no dice.
From the kitchen…Again, I think it will be a light week because of the holiday (which I don’t have to cook for this year!). I just have to make herb rolls and sweet potatoes to bring. Last week I cooked up a storm for Jonalyn’s “gottcha” day – Filipino adobo, jasmine rice, homemade pan de sal (a sweet dinner roll), chocolate cake and homemade polvoron (Filipino cookie). I’m all cooked out.
I am creating…a clean house. It really needs it.
I am wearing…again, I’m in my robe. You all must think I’ve been very lazy lately ๐
I am reading…”A Cricket in Time’s Square” for Alyssa’s literature class
I am hoping…for a happy, happy Thanksgiving.
I am praying…for safety for my family this week, as we do some holiday traveling.
I am going…the usual Monday places – piano lessons, pick up the kids from school. I don’t know about scrapbooking yet.
Around the house…you don’t really want to know. See above.
I am hearing…silence. It’s a lovely thing.
One of my favorite things…drawing for my book giveaway. That will be tomorrow. If you haven’t entered yet, click here, leave a comment and maybe you’ll get a special Thanksgiving treat. Did a mention that it’s an autographed copy?!!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Thanksgiving! And housecleaning :{ And work ๐ And Thanksgiving! (I just had to cheer myself up.)
Here is picture thought I am sharing: I just realized I never posted any pictures of our apple picking field trip back in September. So, here are my mom and Alyssa with our load. They told us we could fill the bags as full as we could. They didn’t know they were dealing with a bunch of Dutchmen who would fill them so full we would need a wagon to take them back to our car!

We’ve been sick here to so our house looks just like yours then. I’m not sure if we had H1N1 or just seasonal flu. The kids and their dad are at the doctors office right now.

Gorgeous pics – here and in your other posts. Love that fall shot from a week ago.
I don’t have to cook for Thanksgiving either! Just potatoes, which I can (and will) make ahead.
Have a wonderful holiday and safe traveling,
Julie ‘Grasshopper’

Thanks for sharing your daybook and for visiting the Mathews! I scrolled down and read about Jonalyn and I got teary-eyed. Thank you for your honesty and for giving her a family! It must be amazing how far she has come!
