FOR TODAY September 14, 2009
Outside my window…The skies are an unbroken blue. There’s not a cloud or even a contrail to mar them. But it’s going to be warm. We didn’t get summer in July, but we’re sure getting it in September. Crazy weather! My deep red French roses are blooming, as well as the mist of Russian sage. In my shade garden my purple turtlehead is blooming.
I am thinking…wondering when I will get over this bout with the stomach flu. I’m still so dizzy and nothing is at all appealing to me. Day 4. How much longer?
I am thankful for…recoveries for all who were sick in our house last week. No one was seriously ill, and I’m grateful for that.
From the learning rooms…Alyssa is doing her math drills on the computer downstairs right now. She’ll be up to go over math before I finish typing this. Yes, here she is!
From the kitchen…just thinking about the kitchen turns my stomach, so I have no idea what we’ll have for dinner.
I am creating…a new look for my website, adding a section for book reviews. I hope soon to expand the website from one to multiple pages with several book reviews as well as a surprise or two. Visit www.liztolsma.com and stay tuned!
I am wearing…white shorts and a red short-sleeved sweater. It’s ribbed and has white trim on the collar. One of my favorites.
I am reading…not much. I finished all the books I currently have to influence, so now I need to write reviews. I also need to get another chapter edited in my novel and work on my proposal. My agent will be looking for it in the next couple of weeks.
I am hoping…that no one else gets sick.
I am praying…for everyone’s good health. Seeing a pattern here?!
Around the house…my kids did a great job of cleaning up on Saturday. Still, there’s plenty of laundry to fold and the floors need to be swept. Again.
I am hearing…the refrigerator running, a helicopter flying overhead. Wonder where he’s going? I always hope it’s not Flight for Life on it’s way to the scene of an accident.
One of my favorite things…grape ice pops when I’m sick. I’m fussy when I don’t feel good (O.K. Doug would say I’m always fussy!) and don’t like much, but I can usually manage grape ice pops.
A few plans for the rest of the week: school, errands, work, possibly picking up our new camper and going camping at our property. Depends on an appointment I’m waiting to here about later this week.
Here is picture thought I am sharing…the truck we bought to pull our camper. Hey, we’re stimulating the economy! It’s a Honda Ridgeline, it fits all five of us beautifully and is so thoughtfully designed. Doug is happy to have a truck again. He’s having the hitch put on today so it’s ready for our camper.
Go to The Simple Woman to read more daybooks.

I have been poking around your blog today. First of all, I hope that you feel better soon and that your whole family stays healthy this season. Second, thank you for stopping by my blog today!> Third, it looks like we have a few things in common; i.e. homeschooling, children adopted internationally, and both our families like to camp. Congrats on your new camper and truck! My blog has posts about the way we convert our van to camp (not too fancy, but comfortable). Check it out at my blog in Sept./ Oct. 2008 posts. Have a great week!
