FOR TODAY August 31, 2009
Outside my window…there’s a touch o’ fall in the air. 43 degrees on my thermometer this morning. But the skies are clear and there is no wind, so it really is a lovely day. My surprise lilies are almost finished in my garden, the black-eyed susan’s are blooming, as are the coneflowers, the Russian sage, and the Sedum Autumn Joy. In other words, my garden is still very beautiful.
I am thinking…about the new truck and camper we are looking at. We need wisdom as to what to do. Our camper is really too small for all 5 of us. But then we need a bigger vehicle to pull it.
I am thankful for…a good start to the school year.
From the learning rooms…Brian is off to high school. Jonalyn starts school tomorrow – a very good thing. She is bored an underfoot while I try to teach Alyssa. Alyssa is doing her Spanish right now and enjoying it!
From the kitchen…tacos sound good.
I am creating…a good ninth chapter for my current novel. Needs just a little more tweaking and it will be ready to send to my critique partners.
I am wearing…blue jeans, a purple 3/4 length sleeve T-shirt, lightweight slippers, and my fleece. It’s cold in here, but I’m NOT turning on the heat in August!
I am reading…”A Man of His Word” by Kathleen Fuller. I’m an influencer for that book. So far, very, very good. You’ll see my complete review for it here soon.
I am hoping…that I can get into a good routine of exercise, writing and housework, while keeping up with homeschooling. We’ll see!
I am praying…for this good start to the school year to continue. Please pray with me.
Around the house…it’s rather untidy at the moment. I was busy this past weekend with work, looking at campers, and our church picnic. So today I hope to get that mess cleaned up and clean my showers. Fun times 😉
I am hearing…Jonalyn playing with her birthday balloon. That’s about it right now.
One of my favorite things…a gorgeous late summer day. I can hardly wait for my walk later.
A few plans for the rest of the week: just school, work, chores. Depending on the weather, we might go camping at our property up north this weekend. My parents, who have never seen it, might come to see it. I hope it works out.
Here is picture thought I am sharing…bales of hay in the field. I LOVE this! It’s so peaceful.
