At the risk of losing all my followers, I’m continuing the saga… (mostly so I don’t forget all of this!!)
Wednesday we spent at Magic Kingd*m to finish what we started on Saturday. Let’s see, that included Splash M*untain (Jonalyn hated it), C*untry Bears Jamboree (I remembered it from when I was a kid!), Dumbo, Big Thunder M*untain, and hit the tea cups and race cars again. We also saw another 3D movie. By this time we were really good at using our fast passes and our special needs pass. We even “caught” the parade in the afternoon. Good thing we had our frozen lemonades in hand, because we didn’t intend to see it, just got stuck in the crowd, in the sun. We’re glad we saw it, though. Jonalyn seemed to enjoy it. When we were good and hot and tired, we hopped on the monorail to the Polynesian to have dinner at ‘Ohana. We waited for 45 minutes past our reservation time. It was the only time we had to really wait at all to be seated. Needless to say, we were pretty cranky by that time. When the waiter told me bottled water wasn’t included in our meal plan, Doug, my mild-mannered, even-tempered husband, got upset and said, “After waiting for 45 minutes, you’d think the least you could do for us is give us a bottle of water.” We got it for free. The food was the best we’d had to that point and served family style. It started with chicken wings, Asian dumplings, noodles and bread. Then they come around with this huge skewers of grilled meat – shrimp, turkey, pork, steak. All very good. And the bread pudding was delicious.
Thursday, after lunch at our hotel which was very good, we headed over to finish up at Epc*t. The kids rode the orange level of Missi*n: Space again and we caught S*arin’. My sister knows how I hate heights and flying. When the signs said that anyone afraid of heights should ride, I almost backed out. Instead, I kept telling myself that this was not real, just a movie. I sat in the seat and they lifted it off the ground. O.K. they need to do that to make you feel like you are flying. But did they have to move us so we were hanging over a cliff?!! I closed my eyes for some of it, but I was proud of how much of it I saw. We also went on the Finding Nem* ride and then saw the aquarium with the dolphins, manatee and other fish. Dinner that night was at the German buffet Biergarten in the German pavilion at Epc*t. Another great meal. Alyssa’s favorite part was the apple strudel. I liked the pretzels. They had a German group playing music and polkas while we ate. Then Doug & Brian headed off to get a picture at H*llywood Studios that Brian had missed earlier in the week while the girls and I did some shopping and claimed a spot for viewing the fireworks. The show was spectacular, even in the pouring rain, but we waited an hour for a 15 minute show. I felt a little bit gypped.
I’ll finish our Disney adventure tomorrow and put you all out of your misery!! Thanks for putting up with these entries. Right now I guess I’m treating this blog as my personal diary.
