Bright and early tomorrow morning (waaay too bright and early, hopefully) we will set off on our summer adventure. Nine days of fun and sun. Four of them in the car (oh, joy). Until then, I’m busy packing. And cleaning. I have this strange superstition that if I leave on vacation with my house clean, nothing bad will happen to us. If I leave it dirty, surely then something bad will happen because someone will have to come and clean out my house and see how truly dirty it is. Stupid, I know. Borderline obsessive. But it is a good feeling knowing you won’t have to come home and clean right away. There will be enough laundry to do!

I cut Jonalyn’s hair yesterday. I have such a hard time getting it even. Then she tips her head and wiggles and it’s impossible to get it straight. I took off much more than I intended because one side ended up an inch longer than the other! And this Asian hair is so difficult to cut because it is so silky smooth. On top of that, Jonalyn has some curls. How are you supposed to cut curls evenly? Oh well, she does look kind of cute, in a mother-can-only-love-me kind of way.

Some plans for this trip? Meeting up with a dear friend of mine. I’m ticking away the hours!! Reading four books. FOUR. I’ll post reviews when I get back. Enjoying my family. Eating out. Listening to the tunes on my MP3 player. NOT checking email or blogging. My computer is not coming with me, so I will be out of touch for a while. I might have withdrawls. I hope I survive!
