FOR TODAY May 11, 2009
Outside my window…It’s cloudy now but I see blue skies. I hope they hurry and make it here. My tulips are blooming like crazy. My beautiful pink ones opened over the weekend. They might be my favorites.
I am thinking…about all of the phone calls I need to make today. Already called the doctor (more on that later), must call the dentist, the bank, and our adoption agency (I have a speaking opportunity with them!)
I am thankful for…urgent care clinics. I had an earache and swollen gland on Saturday. Yesterday my face started to swell. Finally my mom suggested I go in and have it checked out yesterday afternoon. Turns out I have a stone in my salivary duct. It’s painful. Eating is hard. Well, I wanted to lose weight… The doc wants me to see an ENT for follow-up, but I can’t get in there until Wednesday.
From the learning rooms…Alyssa is done with school. Brian is finishing up in the next 2 weeks or so. We haven’t started yet today. I must get motivated.
From the kitchen…something I can eat without having to open my mouth or chew!
I am wearing…back to the sweats. It was rather cool here this weekend. Tomorrow promises to be warmer.
I am creating…a blog post? Does that count? About all I feel up to right now.
I am going…I don’t know. I had a whole bunch of plans for today, but they’ve all fallen through already. Maybe nowhere. That would be O.K. for a change.
I am reading…nothing. Can’t allow myself to get caught up in a book until we are done with school.
I am hoping…that school goes quickly today. I don’t feel like doing anything right now.
I am praying…for healing.
Around the house…Alyssa is cleaning up the kitchen. Brian – I don’t know. I must find him and start school.
I am hearing…the hum of the computer. Alyssa opening the door to the garage to put something in the recycling bin. Not much else.
One of my favorite things…wild animals in the yard. A turkey wandered past the window yesterday. How cool!
A few plans for the rest of the week: a spa day with my girlfriend. Followed by ice cream. What could be better than that!
Here is picture thought I am sharing…
Alyssa at her piano recital. She did such a beautiful job!!! I’m so proud of her. And last night she played the offertory at the evening service. Lovely. Everyone complimented her on what a nice job she did. Some even thought it was the regular pianist playing. That gave her the confidence to want to play in church again. Nothing could make me happier than seeing my children using their talents for the Lord.

Hey, you commented on a daybook of mine a few weeks ago. Now I’m going out on a limb and tagging you for a meme. Hope this isn’t too wierd and that you will play along if you’ve got the time.
