I haven’t been keeping up with the blogging as I would like. Things have been so busy here. School seems to be taking so much of my time. I can’t keep my head above all the papers I have to grade no matter how hard I try. I’m still editing the manuscript I hope to send in. I didn’t think it would take me this long and I have to go back and redo the first chapter (again) and make a few other changes and corrections along the way. It will be a few more weeks before that project is off of my plate. Then I start a writing class in March. I’m excited about it, but hope I didn’t bite off more than I can chew. (Please excuse all my cliches tonight – I’m too tired to be creative!)
Anyway, we celebrated Brian’s 14th birthday on Sunday. My little boy is getting to be quite a young man. It’s hard to believe. It was a quiet celebration with just my parents. I’m so thankful to have them nearby. They are the only family close enough to come for celebrations like this. He had a giant cookie instead of a cake. I’ll post some pictures when I get a chance.
Jonalyn’s IEP meeting was last Wednesday. It went well. They want to put her into a regular 5K class but pull her out for all of her academics. She will only be with her class for recess, lunch, gym, art and those kinds of things. She is doing so well that she is able to be finished with physical therapy. We do want to take her back to the CP doc because they are concerned with her “intoeing”. The tightness in her leg muscles is pulling her feet inward. It will become more and more of a concern as she grows. She’ll continue with speech and OT. We are gunning for as much speech as they can give her. We feel it will be the key to unlocking so much with her. (Again with the cliches – sorry!)
Tomorrow we go to meet with the school we hope to enroll Brian in next year. I’ll be interested to see what they think about where he is academically. To be honest, I’m nervous about it and how it will reflect on me.
Time for bed now. I’ll try to do better about keeping things up to date.
