For most of us (me!) gaining weight is a bad thing. But not for Jonalyn. When she came home 15 months ago, she weighed 33 pounds. Last summer she weighed 34 pounds. We were discouraged with her progress. But she was at the doctor yesterday and weighed in at 36 1/2 pounds. Yay! That is huge weight gain for someone with microcephaly. They tend to have problems with absorbing their food. I can feel how much heavier she’s getting when I hold her on my lap and she’s outgrowing some of clothes. She’s still tiny for a 6 1/2 year old, but we were happy with the report.
