Yes, Jonalyn is now legally our daughter!!! Our court date went very smoothly. With our other two, we never had to take the stand to answer questions, but this judge made us do that. We had to swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help me God. And he called on me to go first!! I thought I would faint, but I made it through his questioning. He said I moved to the head of the line because men never remember dates and he had some dates to ask me. What he didn’t know was that Doug practiced the dates all morning! We did have a wonderful judge who let the kids come up and see his bench when we were finished and let us take some pictures. During the picture, Brian leaned against the wall and a door opened – he discovered a secret passage! So the judge took us back there and showed us his private chambers, too. My parents were able to come which made the day complete. We had a lovely brunch afterward to celebrate. I’ll post pictures when Doug gets a chance to download them from the camera. Thanks to everyone for all of your prayers during this process. Now we just need to get her new birth certificate and proof of citizenship (she also became a U.S. citizen this morning upon finalization). We can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
