Of course, everyone at the wedding last weekend is special to me; however, I did get to spend time with a couple of women special to me as an author.
I spent a good bit of time on Sunday speaking to the granddaughter of the woman who was the inspiration for Snow on the Tulips. It was an amazing time. She confirmed the details of the story that is the inciting incident. Just listening to her accent was great. Thanks to her, I have a few tweaks to the manuscript.
After dinner on Sunday, I got to sit next to my aunt who is the inspiration for my current story, Daisies Last Forever. She was gracious and, though it was difficult for her to speak about that time in her life, she answered my questions. She told me things I never knew about her. More ideas for the story! She is excited about the book.
One thing about writing WWII stories is, that at this point, there are people alive who lived these events. I get the stories first hand and preserve them forever. What a privilege. While I love other times in history, WWII is special. I’m so excited to get to share these stories with you all!
PS – still waiting for pictures LOL!!
